New Album of Eclectic Beauty – PLAINS by Jessica Rotter

Our suggestion box has been more like a treasure box, where I’ve found some gleaming gems. Today’s feature is one such gem.

I started with the YouTube link for Jessica Rotter’s single, Pray For Rain, which was provided with the submission form. I was intrigued by her sound, so I went to Spotify in search of the newly released album. Found it there, and listened, and loved.

The first thought I had while listening was how absolutely clear Jessica Rotter’s voice is. She has a beautiful tone that’s like ringing crystal. You know that sound I’m talking about? It’s clear and strong and precise. That’s her voice.

After hearing Pray For Rain, I’d expected a bit of a pop album. I didn’t find that. In fact, I found a surprise at every turn. Each song is a little different in style, yet the songs flow from one to the other without a hitch. The music is a masterpiece of its own, capturing the mood and emotion in the lyrics and the vocals. I’m not sure how you’d classify this album overall; I’ll simply say that it’s the essence of beauty.

While this is Jessica’s first album, she is no novice. Jessica is an experienced musician, with her music having been used in movies, TV shows, and commercials. She has worked with some of the greats, including Carole King, Alicia Keys, and Sam Smith. Now she is breaking out on her own with an album that should be climbing to the top of multiple charts.
